Mercure Insurance was founded in 1890 by Captain Hubert Mercure, a retired lake captain. We offer our clients competitive pricing, a broad choice of products (auto insurance, home insurance and business insurance) and unparalleled advocacy. At that time, Dan operated his own business, one of the first automobile dealerships in southern Michigan. He sold Fords and then transferred to Willys-Overland. Many of the local residents' first car was an Overland purchased from Dan - and insured by him. The Agency continued to grow under his supervision until his untimely death in 1935. The agency is now owned and operated by his oldest son, Daniel H. Mercure along with his son, Daniel M. Mercure, who represents the 5th generation to carry on the family business.
